Your Patients Return to You

You're Forced to Choose Between Bad Options

Your FQHC or community clinic servespopulations who can't afford to wait. But when you're at capacity, where do yousend them? The hospital? A for-profit practice that charges what your patientscan't pay? A telehealth company that won't coordinate care? Or do you just addthem to an 8-week waitlist and hope they don't decompensate?

Capacity Constraints

Your therapists are booked solid for 6-8 weeks. Your psychiatrist (if you even have one) has a 12-week wait. You know these patients need help now, but you physically cannot see them. So you turn them away or put them on a list, knowing many won't make it to their first appointment.
The Reality:
By the time slots open up, patients have given up, ended up in crisis, or found care elsewhere.

Limited Specialty Services

Your patients need services you can't provide: TMS therapy, neuropsychological testing, Partial Hospitalization Programs, interventional psychiatry. You refer them out, but then you lose visibility and the patient never comes back to you for ongoing care.
The Impact:
You lose patients to specialty providers who keep them permanently.

No Good Referral Options

When you refer to other community providers, they have the same waitlists you do. When you refer to private practices, patients can't afford it. When you refer to hospitals, it's overkill. You need a partner who can move fast, handle complex cases, and send patients back to you.
The Problem:
Most behavioral health vendors see your referrals as acquisition opportunities, not partnerships.

What if there was a behavioral health partner built specifically to support FQHCs and CBOs—not compete with them?

We Handle Your Overflow. You Keep Your Patients

Wellity Health doesn't compete with community clinics. We support them. When you're at capacity, we provide immediate access. When your patients need specialty services you can't offer, we deliver them. And when treatment is complete, we refer patients back to you for ongoing care.

This isn't patient stealing. This is partnership.

Immediate Access for Your Overflow

When you have an 8-week waitlist and a patient in crisis, refer them to Wellity. We'll see them within 1.7 days on average—often same-day for urgent cases. We provide therapy and stabilization, then transfer them back to your clinic when you have capacity.
What This Means for Your Clinic:
  • You don't have to turn patients away
  • Patients get immediate help instead of decompensating on waitlists
  • You maintain the relationship—we're temporary support, not permanent replacement
  • Your community sees you as a clinic that solves problems, not one with endless wait times

Statewide California Coverage

Whether your clinic is in the Bay Area, Central Valley, Southern California, or rural counties, Wellity serves your patients through hybrid telehealth and in-person delivery. Your referrals don't fail because of geography.
Coverage:
  • Telehealth available statewide for routine care
  • In-person services in major metro areas
  • Higher levels of care (PHP/IOP) in Bay Area and expanding
  • Crisis services same-day anywhere in California

Specialty Services You Can't Provide

Most FQHCs can't afford to hire specialists for interventional psychiatry, neuropsych testing, or PHP programs. When your patients need these services, refer to Wellity. We deliver the specialty care, then send patients back to you for ongoing therapy and support.
Services We Handle:
  • Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) for treatment-resistant depression
  • Neuropsychological testing for complex diagnostic clarity
  • Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP)
  • Ketamine therapy for acute suicidality
  • Crisis stabilization
The Result:
Your patients get specialized care without leaving your clinic's care ecosystem permanently.

Shared Care for Psychiatry

Your therapists provide excellent therapy, but you don't have enough psychiatrists (or any) for medication management. Refer patients to Wellity for psychiatry while your therapists continue providing therapy. Shared care model—both of us billing, both of us coordinating.
How It Works:
  • Your clinic continues therapy sessions
  • Wellity provides psychiatric evaluation and medication management
  • We coordinate care (you're not working in the dark)
  • Patient sees both providers as part of one integrated team
Why This Matters:
You don't lose therapy revenue or patient relationships just because they need meds.

The Services Your Patients Need —Without the Overhead

FQHCs and community clinics can't afford to hire specialists for every service patients need. That's where we come in. Refer to Wellity for services you don't provide, and we'll handle them while keeping you informed and referring patients back when appropriate.
Overflow Therapy & Psychiatry
When your therapists and psychiatrists are fully booked, we provide:
  • Individual therapy (CBT, DBT, trauma-focused care)
  • Psychiatric evaluation and medication management
  • Group therapy programs
  • Crisis intervention with same-day access
Referral Loop:
Patients transfer back to your clinic when you have capacity, or we continue shared care for psychiatry while you provide therapy.
Higher Levels of Care
Services most FQHCs cannot provide in-house:
  • IndividuPartial Hospitalization Program (PHP): Intensive daily treatment for patients who need more than outpatiental therapy (CBT, DBT, trauma-focused care)
  • Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP): Step-down from hospitalization or PHP
  • Crisis Stabilization: Alternatives to emergency department when patients are in acute distress
Referral Loop:
After PHP/IOP completion, patients return to your clinic for ongoing outpatient therapy and support.
Interventional Psychiatry
Advanced treatments for complex, treatment-resistant cases:
  • Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS): Non-invasive brain stimulation for treatment-resistant depression
  • Ketamine Therapy: Rapid intervention for acute suicidality and severe depression
  • Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT): Substance use disorder programs
Referral Loop:
Specialty treatment delivered by Wellity, patient returns to your clinic for maintenance care.
Neuropsychological Testing
Comprehensive diagnostic assessment when you need clarity:
  • ADHD evaluation and differential diagnosis
  • Learning disorder assessment
  • Cognitive functioning testing
  • Diagnostic clarity for complex presentations
Referral Loop:
We provide testing and detailed report, you use results to guide ongoing treatment at your clinic.
Shared Psychiatry (Co-Management)
Your therapists continue therapy, we provide medication management:
  • Psychiatric evaluation
  • Medication initiation and monitoring
  • Regular coordination with your therapists
  • Patients see both providers as integrated team
Referral Loop:
Ongoing shared care—we coordinate, both bill, patient benefits from integrated treatment.
Every service is delivered by licensed California clinicians using evidence-based protocols.
We provide progress updates, coordinate care, and ensure your clinic stays informed about patients you've referred.

Referring Patients to Wellity Takes 5 Minutes

We know you're busy. Referrals shouldn't require complex paperwork or multiple phone calls. Here's how simple it is:
01
Submit Referral
Complete our simple online referral form (5 minutes) or call our referral line. Provide basic patient info, reason for referral, and what service they need (overflow therapy, psychiatry, specialty service, etc.).
What We Need:
  • Patient name and contact info
  • Insurance information
  • Reason for referral
  • Urgency level (routine vs. urgent)
  • Your clinic contact for coordination
02
We Contact Patient Immediately
Within 24 hours (same-day for urgent referrals), our intake team contacts the patient to schedule their first appointment. Patients are seen within 1.7 days on average—often same-day or next-day for crisis situations.
You Don't Have To:
  • Chase the patient to schedule
  • Navigate insurance verification
  • Worry about whether they'll actually show up
03
We Provide Care & Coordinate Back
We deliver the service you referred for (therapy, psychiatry, specialty treatment). Throughout treatment, we keep you updated with patient consent. When appropriate, we refer the patient back to your clinic for ongoing care.
For Shared Care (Psychiatry):
We coordinate regularly so you know medication changes, side effects, and treatment response.
For Overflow/Specialty:
After stabilization or specialty treatment completion, we provide a transition summary and warm handoff back to your clinic.

No complex contracts required to start referring.

We accept most major insurance including Medi-Cal, Medicare, and commercial plans. If patients are uninsured, we work with them on sliding scale options.

The Difference Between Referring Patients and Actually Solving the Problem

Wellity vs. Traditional Approach

We know what you're thinking:
"If I refer patients to Wellity, will I ever see them again?"

The answer: Yes. Because we're designed to support FQHCs and CBOs, not replace them.

Our Commitments to Partner Clinics

For Overflow Referrals:

When you refer patients because of capacity constraints, we provide immediate treatment and refer them back to your clinic when you have availability. We don't keep them permanently unless that's what you and the patient prefer.

For Specialty Services:

When you refer for TMS, neuropsych testing, PHP, or other specialty services, patients return to your clinic after specialty treatment is complete. You remain the primary care home.

For Shared Psychiatry:

When you refer for medication management while your therapists continue therapy, we coordinate actively and both providers remain involved. This is true co-management, not us taking over.

For Complex Cases:

If a patient's needs exceed what your clinic can provide long-term (severe treatment-resistant illness, high-risk suicidality requiring intensive monitoring), we can maintain primary care with your consent. But we communicate transparently—no patient disappears without you knowing.

What CBOs Tell Us:

"We were hesitant to refer at first because we'd lost patients to other providers before. But Wellity actually does what they say—they send patients back when treatment is done. Now we refer confidently."
— Clinical Director, Bay Area FQHC
"The shared psychiatry model is perfect for us. Our therapists keep seeing patients for therapy, Wellity handles meds, and we both coordinate. Patients get better care, and we don't lose revenue."
— Medical Director, Central Valley Community Health Center

Built for California's Community-Based Behavioral Health Providers

Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs)

Your FQHC serves Medi-Cal and uninsured populations who can't afford to wait weeks for appointments. When you're at capacity or patients need specialty services, refer to Wellity for immediate access and coordinated care.
Common Referral Scenarios:
  • Overflow when your therapists/psychiatrists are fully booked
  • Patients needing TMS, PHP, or neuropsych testing you can't provide
  • Crisis situations requiring same-day intervention
  • Medication management when you lack psychiatric capacity

Community-Based Behavioral Health Organizations

Your community clinic provides essential behavioral health services but lacks capacity for surge demand or specialized interventions. Partner with Wellity to extend your clinical reach without adding overhead.
Common Referral Scenarios:
  • Seasonal surges in demand (post-holidays, back-to-school anxiety)
  • Complex cases requiring intensive treatment (PHP/IOP)
  • Treatment-resistant depression needing interventional psychiatry
  • Diagnostic clarity through neuropsych testing
Whether you're a large multi-site FQHC or a smaller community-based clinic, we adapt to your needs. We serve patients regardless of insurance status (Medi-Cal, Medicare, commercial, uninsured/sliding scale).

Questions Clinic Directors Ask

What happens if my patient likes Wellity better and doesn't want to come back?
Patient choice is always paramount—we can't force anyone to return to your clinic if they prefer to stay with us. However, our model is designed to make returning to your clinic the natural path. For overflow referrals, we position ourselves as temporary support, not permanent replacement. For specialty services, the treatment naturally concludes and transitions back. In our experience, most patients return to their original clinic because that's where their established relationship is. The key is that we're transparent with both you and the patient about the plan from day one.
Do you accept Medi-Cal and Medicare?
Yes. We're contracted with major Medi-Cal managed care plans across California and accept Medicare. We also work with commercial insurance and offer sliding scale for uninsured patients. When you refer, we handle all insurance verification and billing—your clinic doesn't need to navigate that.
How do you coordinate care if we're co-managing a patient?
For shared psychiatry cases, we provide regular updates (with patient consent) via your preferred method—secure messaging, phone, or shared notes if you have EHR integration. We're responsive to your questions and coordinate medication changes with your therapy team. You won't be working in the dark.
What if you can't see the patient quickly either?
Our 1.7-day average access time is based on current capacity. If we're experiencing unusual surge and can't meet our typical timeline, we communicate that upfront when you call to refer. We don't accept referrals we can't honor quickly—we'd rather tell you honestly that we're at capacity than make promises we can't keep.
Do we need a formal contract to start referring?
No. You can start referring patients immediately without signing a partnership agreement. However, many clinics prefer a simple Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that outlines our coordination process, how we'll communicate, and our commitment to referring patients back. We can provide a template MOU if you'd like one, but it's not required.
What happens in a crisis after hours?
Our patients have access to crisis support 24/7. For patients we're co-managing with your clinic, we handle after-hours psychiatric crises and coordinate with you the next business day. We don't expect your clinic to handle crisis calls for patients we're treating.
Can you serve patients in rural areas?
Yes, through telehealth. For routine therapy and medication management, statewide telehealth works well. For higher levels of care like PHP or in-person TMS, patients may need to travel to our locations in major metro areas, but we work with patients on logistics and scheduling to minimize burden.
How quickly do you refer patients back?
It depends on the reason for referral:
  • Overflow: As soon as your clinic has capacity (you tell us when)
  • Specialty services: After treatment completion (typically 4-12 weeks for PHP, single session for neuropsych testing)
  • Shared psychiatry: Ongoing co-management, patient remains connected to both providers
We don't drag out treatment unnecessarily. Our goal is effective care and timely transition back to your clinic.
