Based on our school-based services delivered through county partnerships and health plan programs

If Your Students Have Medi-Cal or Kaiser, We're Already Their Behavioral Health Partner

Current Reality

Many of your students already access Wellity through Medi-Cal or Kaiser. We coordinate directly with your counseling team to ensure seamless behavioral health support.
Discover More
Students receive care from licensed therapists and board-certified psychiatrists, with coordination alongside your counseling team when appropriate. We can participate in IEP/504 meetings and provide updates with consent to ensure alignment between clinical care and academic support.
This allows districts to extend behavioral health capacity without adding staff or new infrastructure.

Expanding Through CYBHI

Through California’s CYBHI initiative, we’re expanding school-based services with dedicated clinical teams and no cost to schools.
Discover More
Our CYBHI model includes therapy, psychiatry, crisis intervention, care coordination, and outcome reporting delivered by dedicated clinical teams. Implementation is structured and streamlined, enabling districts to reduce wait times and expand access without operational burden.
All services are provided at no cost to schools or families.

We don't just provide therapy appointments. We become true partners in student success—coordinating with your counselors, training your staff, and supporting families every step of the way.

Leadership Built for Schools

Monique Ordone

LMFT Chief Strategy Officer
We've been delivering mental health services in California schools for several years through county behavioral health partnerships. Now CYBHI funding allows us to bring our model to more districts across the state—with faster implementation, dedicated clinical teams, and zero cost to schools
"
I've worked in schools, hospitals, and health systems. The students who do best are the ones who get support early—before they're in crisis. That's why I'm leading Wellity's school partnerships: to bring the right level of care to students when and where they need it, working hand-in-hand with school counselors who know them best."

Everything You Need to Know About School-Based Mental Health Partnerships

Is this covered by CYBHI, or does it cost our district budget?
100% covered through CYBHI grant funding.Zero cost to your district budget. Zero cost to families. Wellity handles allCYBHI grant application support if your district hasn't already applied.
How do you differ from school counselors we already employ?
School counselors do vital work—academic planning, college prep, crisis triage, family communication. But they're not licensed clinical therapists and don't have capacity to provide ongoing mental health treatment.
Wellity provides licensed therapists and psychiatrists who deliver evidence-based clinical treatment—not replacing counselors, but supporting them with the clinical expertise and capacity they need.
What happens in a crisis after school hours?
Students and families have 24/7 access to California's 988 Crisis Lifeline for immediate support. For students actively receiving Wellity services, we provide clinical follow-up within 24 hours of any crisis event and coordinate closely with school counselors.
Can you serve students regardless of insurance status?
Yes. Through CYBHI funding, all students in partner schools are eligible regardless of family insurance status. No insurance requirements, no income restrictions, no cost to families.
How do you ensure student privacy?
All services are HIPAA and FERPA compliant. Clinical information is confidential and protected. We share appropriate information with school counselors only with family consent and only what's necessary for school-based support (safety plans, accommodations, general progress).
Schools know which students are receiving services (because you refer them), but therapy content remains confidential per federal law.
What if a family doesn't want their child to participate?
All services require parental consent. We conduct family outreach, explain services, answer questions, and obtain informed consent before any treatment begins. Families can decline services or withdraw consent at any time.
How often will students be pulled from class?
We work with each school to minimize academic disruption:
  • Schedule sessions during lunch, study halls, or non-core subjects when possible
  • Rotate class periods so students don't miss the same subject repeatedly
  • Offer before-school, after-school, and telehealth options
  • Coordinate with teachers on timing that works for individual students
What happens if a student needs more intensive care than weekly therapy?
If students need higher levels of care (Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient, inpatient psychiatric hospitalization), we coordinate those transitions. Wellity provides PHP and IOP services. For inpatient needs, we work with local hospitals and maintain care coordination throughout.
Do you provide services in languages other than English?
Yes. Our clinical teams include bilingual and multilingual clinicians fluent in Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Hindi, and other languages. We match students and families with clinicians who speak their preferred language.
How do you train our staff, and is there additional cost?
Staff training is included in partnershipat no extra cost. We provide:
  • Initial training duringpartnership launch
  • Ongoing workshops on specific topics (trauma recognition, suicide prevention, LGBTQ+ support, etc.)
  • Lunch-and-learn sessionsthroughout school year
  • Consultation for counselors oncomplex cases
Format is flexible—in-person, virtual, orhybrid based on your preference.
Can students see Wellity providers during summer break?
Yes. Services continue year-round. During school breaks, students can access telehealth appointments from home or in-person appointments at our community locations.
What data and reporting do we receive?
Monthly reports include:
  • Number of students served
  • Service utilization (therapy,psychiatry, groups)
  • Treatment engagement rates
  • Clinical outcome measures (symptomimprovement)
  • Demographic breakdown
  • Crisis interventions and safetyplanning
Quarterly comprehensive reports formatted for school boards and district leadership. All data is de-identified for privacy while showing aggregate impact.
