How we work

One Continuum. No Referral to Nowhere.

Most vendors are telehealth only. When a student needs more, counselors refer externally and hope. Wellity offers a full continuum: students can move from therapy to IOP to PHP without new intake or gaps.

Telehealth - weekly therapy
Evening and weekend slots. Your counselor makes a warm referral. Student is seen within 1.7 days. Therapy begins.

Psychiatry — medication integrated
If the student needs medication, psychiatry is already in the same system. No second referral, no new intake, no gap.

In-person + IOP — intensive outpatient
Student needs more structured support. IOP is 3 days a week — they stay enrolled, keep their job, don't take leave.

PHP — full-day structured treatment
The alternative to medical leave. 5 days a week, fully structured. Student stays in the Wellity system throughout. No new referral, no gap, your counselor is kept in the loop.

What Administrators and Students Ask First

Are you HIPAA and FERPA compliant?
Yes. Wellity operates under full HIPAA compliance. FERPA is respected — your counselors make the referral, and student records stay within appropriate boundaries. We do not share clinical data with campus administration without student consent.
What does the contracting process look like?
For CYBHI Track 1 (public institutions), we manage the CYBHI contracting — your institution signs a partnership MOU, not a purchase order. Typically 30–45 days to finalize. Full service launch within 60–90 days of signing.
What happens when a student is in crisis?
Same-day appointments available during business hours. After hours: students are directed to 988, crisis text line, or nearest ER. Wellity clinicians have clear escalation protocols and will coordinate with your campus counseling team on high-risk students.
How much work does this create for my counselors?
Minimal. Your counselor makes a warm referral — a brief call or form. Wellity handles scheduling, intake, insurance verification, and billing. Your counselors stay focused on the students they're already seeing.
How do we measure whether this is working?
Quarterly outcomes reports: utilization by service, diagnosis categories, session completion rates, disposition (returned to campus counseling, stepped up, discharged). Available for your VP of Student Affairs and board.
Will students have to pay out of pocket?
Most won't. Medi-Cal accepted — which covers the majority of community college students. Medicare and most commercial plans accepted. Sliding scale for uninsured. Through CYBHI partnerships, most students pay nothing.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes. If a student is 18 or older, therapy is fully confidential. Campus administration only knows a student is receiving services — not what they discuss. Exceptions: serious, imminent safety situations only.
Who leads Wellity's clinical operations?
Monique, LMFT — Chief Strategy Officer, 12+ years in school-based mental health. She leads clinical programming, adolescent and young adult services, and partner onboarding. Dr. Deepak, MD provides psychiatric oversight as Founder and CEO. All clinicians are licensed, supervised, and credentialed with major insurers.
